Scholarships
The main stated object of the Melanie Kristin Price Foundation is the advancement of education in Barbados including but not limited to the provision of scholarships, bursaries, prizes and other awards.
The Melanie Kristin Price Foundation awarded its first scholarships in 2014 and continues to awards scholarships annually.
The Foundation not only seeks to reward academic excellence, success and determination, but also seeks to create a skilled cadre of awardees that will represent the spirit of the Foundation. The Foundation expects its awardees to become an integral part of the Foundation's ongoing efforts to advance education in Barbados. This contribution can come in the form of tutorship, mentoring, creating opportunities for development, financial assistance, and looking out for the welfare of children.
In 2018, the Melanie Kristin Price Foundation will be awarding three (3) scholarships to students from The Rock Christian School, Queen's College and Hugh Wooding Law School. A book prize for Intellectual Property will be awarded to a student of the University of the West Indies, chosen by the Faculty of Law. Additionally, the most outstanding Common Entrance student of The Rock Christian School will be awarded a prize.
